Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (27 January 1756 – 5 December 1791)

As a birthday tribute to the great Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart I thought the most fitting tribute would be one of his most delicate creations, 'Ruhe sanft, mein holdes leben' from his opera Zaide.  As a teenager for my birthday I received a recording of Kiri te Kanawa singing Mozart arias.  For me the most divine sound came from this aria, it's finely spun vocal line perfectly captured by one of the greatest Mozart singers ever recorded.
