Maria Voiculescu-Quintus - Salome
I've found a stunning series of these which I'll be sharing over the next few days.  I have no idea who Maria Voiculescu-Quintus was apart from the fact that she was a Romanian actress. The pics are gorgeous and look more like stills from a play than an opera.  This costume is simply stunning, the DETAIL! Oh my stars!

So admire the pic above and have a listen to this rarity of the Final scene from R. Strauss' Salome.  It was recorded in 1943, in Berlin under Robert Heger with the Orchester der Staatsoper Berlin.  Liselotte Enck makes a youthful, willful Judean princess.  Have a brilliant Friday.
